Pangong Lake also known as Pangong Tso is a beautiful lake situated in Ladakh. It is 135km long, extending from India to China. This lake is situated at a height of 4350m and is one of the hot tourist attractions in the Ladakh region. The beauty of this lake has attracted people from all over the country and beyond. 

The one factor that makes this Lake so popular is the fact that it keeps changing colors. The beauty of the lake will amaze you with its colour changing quality. Situated in the himalayan range it is 150kms from Leh. This spot has always been a favourite among many photographers. If you love photography, this place is going to be an absolute delight.

And because the lake is a long stretch, one third area of the lake lies within our country India and the other two third portion lies with Tibet and is controlled by China.

All you need to do is take a five to six hours drive from Leh to reach Pangong Lake. Another best part about this journey is the route that leads you to the lake. You have to pass over the world’s third highest motorable pass called the Chang la. This spot is also wonderful to take some pictures with your loved ones for a memory back home and to taste the thukpa at the cafe run by locals.

The Pangong Lake has also been featured in a Bollywood movie called 3 IDIOTS which is why it is very popular among the Indian tourist.

The best time to explore this vast and beautiful lake is during the month of June to September. Though the weather can be cold with quite windy, it is absolutely better than the rest of the seasons.
