Mentok Kangri is for guests who want a summit-focused Ladakh trip without stepping fully into technical mountaineering territory. Mentok Kangri rises on the long ridge south of Korzok village above Tso Moriri. In July and August the Korzok valley becomes green with wildflowers, which is where the name comes from, since Mentok in Ladakhi and Tibetan means flower. The mountain rises above the Tso Moriri side, and the setting around Korzok gives the expedition a very different feel from the Markha-based routes. The altitude is serious, the summit day is long, and success depends as much on acclimatization and judgment as on determination. It is a real 6,000-metre objective built around a simple and effective route flow: drive to Korzok, move to base camp through the flower valley, make the summit push, then spend time around the lake before driving out via Tso Kar.
