Phyang to Hunder is a strong choice for trekkers who want a quieter route and a real sense of crossing terrain from one side of Ladakh into another. It remains one of the least visited treks in Ladakh, and that is one of its strongest qualities. The unspoiled landscape, the quieter camps, and the views toward the Karakoram make it feel very different from the better-known routes. The key challenge is Lasermo La, the high pass that links the Leh-side approach to the Nubra side. The route feels more secluded than the most famous Ladakh treks and suits walkers who are comfortable with camping, long days, and a more expedition-like tone. It is not usually the first trek we suggest for beginners, but it can be excellent for returning trekkers or guests who deliberately want something less mainstream.
