UT Kangri Expedition (6,080 m)

UT Kangri is one of Ladakh's better entry-level 6,000-metre peaks for trekkers who want to move from high-altitude trekking into a proper summit-focused expedition. The mountain rises above the Rumtse Phu side of eastern Ladakh and is commonly approached after acclimatization in Leh. The approach itself is part of the attraction: stark mountain desert, open plateau sections, high pastureland, and the more remote feel that makes this side of Ladakh so distinct. UT Kangri is often described as non-technical, but that should not be mistaken for casual. At this altitude, steady acclimatization, disciplined pacing, and the ability to move safely in boots, crampons, and rope systems matter much more than marketing language. We structure the trip as a 13-day expedition with Delhi arrival and departure, acclimatization time in Leh, a supported camp-based phase in the Rumtse Phu valley, a summit push, and a contingency day.
